The Industry Linkages component of the UTM One Stop Centre (OSC) for Green Jobs Education serves as a strategic interface between academia, industry, and community stakeholders.
It ensures that education, training, and research activities at UTM remain responsive to real-world sustainability challenges and evolving green labour-market demands. Through structured partnerships, the OSC facilitates co-creation of knowledge, skills development, and applied solutions, positioning UTM as a key contributor to Malaysia's and ASEAN's transition towards a sustainable and circular economy.
Strategic Objectives
The Industry Linkages platform is designed to achieve the following objectives
- Align academic programmes and micro-credentials with industry needs and ESG requirements
- Strengthen graduate employability in green and sustainability-related sectors
- Facilitate technology transfer and innovation adoption
- Promote multi-stakeholder collaboration across government, industry, and community
- Support evidence-based policy and sustainability practices

Structured channels for collaboration and co-creation
Industry Advisory & Co-Creation
The OSC engages industry partners in curriculum co-development (green skills, ESG competencies), validation of micro-credentials and training modules, and identification of emerging job roles such as ESG analyst and sustainability engineer.
Internships & Work-Based Learning
The OSC coordinates industrial placements in sustainability-related sectors, structured internships aligned with green jobs pathways, and industry-based project assignments.
Joint Research & Innovation
The OSC supports collaboration in applied research in environmental engineering, water, waste, and circular economy; AI-enabled sustainability solutions such as digital twins and data analytics; and ESG reporting and compliance systems.
Industry Roundtables & Stakeholder Dialogues
The OSC organises roundtable discussions with industry leaders and policymakers, sector-specific dialogues (water, waste, energy, ESG finance), and knowledge-sharing platforms under TUNE and UTM initiatives.
Community & Living Lab Engagement
