LL7 : Sustainable Transportations

Concept of sustainable transport in UTM will emphasize on few strategies:

  1. Improving the Public Transport (UTM Shuttle Bus) within campus and Public (State of Johor Free Shuttle) interconnection to an external road of UTM campus
  2. Enhancing the Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) platforms through the implementation of UTM Bus Tracking System (as similar like GRABS) and Shuttle Bus Operating Schedule
  3. Promoting an eco-lifestyle campus experience to the campus stakeholders via providing a comprehensive plan on pedestrian walk, OKU amenities, TELEPOD-UTM Initiatives, Electric Bike SER1M, and Electric Vehicle/e-Cars
  4. Encouraging the full utilization of public transport services (pool efforts) and pedestrians walk to the academic buildings, rather than private transportation

Low Carbon Ride

Low Carbon Ride 2020 which was inspired by Dr Rozetta Dolah, Dato ‘Suhairi Saad, and PM Ir. Dr. Shamsul Sarip has managed to attract 26 motorcyclists among UTM and Navy staff in the successful convoy from UTM KL to Cameron Highland. The convoy ceremony was officiated by YBrs. Prof. Dr. Shamsul bin Sahibuddin, UTM KL Pro-Vice Chancellor.

Car Free Campus @ UTM

This program is conducted to support the UTM initiative to lower the amount of carbon and also make staff and students healthier by walking or cycling. With the cooperation of several PTJs including PHB, Security Division, and several other PTJs, this program has succeeded in educating campus residents on the importance of maintaining good health.

Kayuhan Lestari Car Free Day

The Sustainable Cycling Programme in conjunction with Car Free Campus@UTM Kuala Lumpur is scheduled for every 3rd week of the month in 2020. Let’s get together to participate in this programme to support green campus initiatives as well as a Healthy Lifestyle.
