Blok L12 KTHO siap awal: Bukti komitmen UTM terhadap pembangunan mampan

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) is demonstrably committed to building new and upgraded infrastructure to sustainable standards, aligning its physical development directly with global sustainability frameworks, as evidenced by the timely completion of the Block L12 project at Kolej Tun Hussein Onn (KTHO).

  • Direct Alignment with SDGs: The upgrade and repair works for the Block L12 student residential college are explicitly framed by UTM as being in line with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This commitment integrates the project with:
  • SDG 4 (Quality Education): By providing high-quality infrastructure that supports learning.
  • SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities): By ensuring that residential facilities are comfortable and environmentally friendly (mesra alam).
  • SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure): By expanding capacity to accommodate a larger number of students, thereby alleviating congestion in other residential colleges and improving overall facility access.
  • Evidence of Quality and Efficiency: The project, which involved the upgrading and repair of the college block with a capacity for 530 students, was completed ahead of schedule. This early completion is cited by UTM as proof of the university’s commitment to quality and efficiency in infrastructure development. The successful delivery of comfortable and conducive living environments for students is a direct, visible outcome of adhering to these high development standards.

By explicitly measuring and communicating its infrastructure projects against international sustainable development metrics and successfully delivering high-quality, efficient, and environmentally conscious residential blocks, UTM establishes a transparent and verifiable model for building new and upgraded facilities to sustainable standards.
