UTM bantu pembelajaran kanak-kanak autistik melalui terapi Messy Play

UTM effectively demonstrates its Education outreach activities beyond campus by implementing a community-based program utilizing "Messy Play" therapy to aid in the learning of autistic children. This collaborative program, a partnership between UTM's Faculty of Educational Sciences and Technology (FEST), the Yayasan Penyayang Iskandar Puteri (YPIP), and MindCare Centre, directly reached 72 participants from the Iskandar Puteri community who have autistic children. The activity, which took place off-campus at the Dewan Sri Skudai of the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP), focused on providing early exposure to simple therapy methods that parents can implement at home, serving as a vital training workshop. By enriching skills in fine and gross motor movements, and addressing sensory, cognitive, and emotional development, this outreach effort not only enhances the children's skills but also functions as a support platform for parents facing the challenges of raising special needs children, directly aligning the university’s expertise with critical community needs.

Astroxplorer Junior: Misi Galaksi beri inspirasi ilmu astronomi kepada pelajar sekolah

UTM exhibits strong commitment to Education outreach activities beyond campus by organizing the AstroXplorer Junior: Misi Galaksi program at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Seri Alam (SK BARSA) in Masai, Johor, directly engaging 36 students and their teachers. This initiative, collaboratively run by third-year Geomatic Engineering students from the Field Astronomy course and the School of Undergraduate Studies, provided educational activities beyond the campus walls. The program offered tailored lectures and practical demonstrations, covering theoretical aspects like the importance of astronomy in Geomatic Engineering and hands-on activities using a Theodolite for sun azimuth observation and a Telescope for nighttime observation. By introducing concepts related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) through fun, practical activities like building "Galaxy Rockets," the program successfully increased astronomical knowledge in the target community and inspired students' interest in space science, showcasing the university's dedication to community education.

Program MathLab UTM tingkat kemahiran visualisasi murid terhadap Matematik

UTM is strongly committed to Education outreach activities beyond campus by implementing the MathLab Program at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Perdana, Kluang. This initiative, which is part of the Community STEM Literacy Development Program, involved 31 fourth-year Mathematics Education students who were responsible for developing and improving the school's existing MathLab facility. Conducted off-campus, the program's primary goal was to maximize the effectiveness of the MathLab in Mathematics teaching and learning by improving the visualization skills of 86 Form 4 students toward topics like polygons through hands-on teaching materials and incorporating innovative, game-based learning elements to boost student motivation. This effort demonstrates the university’s dedication to transferring innovative learning methods to local schools, directly assisting students in gaining a deeper, more conceptual understanding of mathematics and fostering a long-term interest in the STEM fields.

UTM menerusi IPRK4.0 anjur kompos lestari di SKLP dan komuniti Kg. Simpang Arang

UTM exemplifies a strong commitment to Education outreach activities beyond campus by conducting the "Laman Kompos@Ladang Pendas" program at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Ladang Pendas and within the Kampung Simpang Arang community. This initiative, part of the Iskandar Puteri Low Carbon Community Grant 4.0 (IPRK4.0), was specifically held off-campus at the SK Ladang Pendas Open Hall and was designed to educate the local community, including indigenous residents, on environmental sustainability. The program involved UTM experts leading both lectures and practical workshops on sustainable organic waste management using the Bokashi and Takakura composting techniques. By equipping participants with these effective, carbon-reducing composting methods, the project directly contributed to the reduction of organic waste and aimed to create SK Ladang Pendas as a future hub for compost production and sustainability activities for the local community, significantly impacting environmental awareness and action beyond the university grounds.
