6.5.3 : Sustainable water extraction on campus

Rock Aquifer Well Technology

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) showcases its commitment to sustainable water extraction on campus by mobilizing its rock aquifer well technology (teknologi telaga air akuifer batuan), which has been strategically developed since 2018. By extracting high-quality clean water from a depth of 158 meters and requiring only a basic treatment system (sistem rawatan asas), this well can supply one million liters of water per day, establishing it as a significant alternative resource for students and the campus community during water supply disruptions.
