SOCIAL IMPACT (EQUALITY)
Training on Social Aspects of Sustainability
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) provides mandatory staff training on social aspects of sustainability through its 2025 institutional training schedule, where relevant courses are explicitly classified under the Integrity, Sustainability, Excellence, Synergy (ISES) element of “Social Sustainability.” This training is delivered to different staff groups, including new staff, academic staff, and professional staff.
Under the Mandatory Service Programme, On-Boarding Programme (Series 1) and On-Boarding Programme (Series 2) are compulsory for new staff under the Social Sustainability module. For academic staff, the schedule includes Track It, Count It, Grow It: Financial Skills for New Entrepreneurs Course, Fundamental of Business Risk Management, and Social Return on Investment (SROI). For professional staff, the schedule includes Project Management for Leaders. These programmes indicate that UTM embeds social sustainability elements into staff capacity building across academic development and leadership training.
