Access to Physical Health-Care Services
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) provides on-campus physical health-care and health education services through its Public Health Unit, under the UTM University Health Center (PKU). This unit has operated since 2015 and it is responsible for managing infectious disease, vector-borne disease, food safety, and other public health concerns in collaboration with the Kulai Health District Office. It also delivers health education and awareness to campus residents through banners, posters, brochures, and social media.
In addition to ongoing public health services, UTM actively conducts campus-based health screening and well-being programmes such as Eye and Health Screening programmed which was held on 25th May 2025 in Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Jom Periksa Kesihatan program which was held on 2 December 2025 at Seminar Hall Student Union Building (SUB), UTM Johor Bahru. These programmes offered comprehensive assessments including eye test, body mass index, blood pressure, blood sugar, body fat analyser, and HbA1c testing, with follow-up counselling by PKU doctors and nutritionists.
UTM’s Public Health Unit provides on-campus health protection and education services, including fogging, sanitization, food premises inspection, and public health awareness for campus residents.
