Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) offers six (6) dedicated postgraduate programmes across four faculties that teach specifically on climate science and environmental sustainability, reflecting a broad, institution-wide commitment to environmental education. The Master of Science (Sustainable Infrastructure) from Faculty of Artificial Intelligence (FAI) equips graduates with advanced knowledge in sustainable building technology, water and energy saving, waste management, and sustainable development and environmental engineering, directly responding to climate-related urban challenges such as flooding, river pollution, and energy waste.

The Master of Science (Energy Management) from the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering (FKT) addresses climate science through energy transition and decarbonisation, covering renewable energy, energy efficiency, life cycle analysis, and smart hybrid energy generation across industrial, transport, and power generation sectors. The programme is ranked among the Top 18 Master Programmes in Energy and Natural Resources regionally by Eduniversal 2021.

The Master in Sustainable Systems (MJIIT) is a multidisciplinary programme covering Applied Sustainable Systems, Life Cycle Assessment, Industrial Ecology and Cleaner Production, Green Economy, Low Carbon Cities, and Renewable Energy, providing students with the tools to address complex sustainability challenges.

The Master of Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (MJIIT, joint degree with University of Tsukuba, Japan) develops specialists in global environmental issues through a curriculum that includes Environmental Impact Assessment, Sustainability Management and Policy, Tropical Climate and Global Monsoon, and Water Environment, combining the academic strengths of two universities.

The Master of Science (Sustainable Urban Design) (MJIIT) is an interdisciplinary programme addressing local and global sustainable issues in the built environment, integrating urban planning, environmental planning, landscape architecture, and environmental engineering, with a compulsory overseas study component exposing students to international sustainable development practice.
Beyond dedicated degree programmes, UTM further embeds climate literacy across its curriculum through more than 20 courses offered at both Bachelor's and Master's levels spanning six faculties. These courses cover a wide range of climate and sustainability topics including climate change, environmental management, water resources, geospatial technology for climate resilience, life cycle assessment, low carbon cities, and sustainable technologies ensuring that sustainability competencies are systematically developed across disciplines and levels of study.
